JIMMY MIRACLE: NEW BIRDS, Feb. 24- Apr. 3, 2010

JIMMY MIRACLE: NEW BIRDS

February 24th – April 3rd, 2010

All Things Project is pleased to have Jimmy Miracle as a special “artist-in-residence”, to create a new installation on-site beginning from January of 2010. Opening on February 24th, JIMMY MIRACLE: NEW BIRDS extends the artist’s recent use of large expanses of colored thread to simulate uncanny, extraordinary beams of light. This time, the idea is birds, more birds . . . and a heavenly firmament fit for the gallery, which happily happens also to be the gathering place for a living, breathing church. The second floor lounge features selected sculpture, photography and drawing by the artist.

The exhibition’s opening night will include an interview time between the curator and the artist, followed by Q&A with the audience.

About the Artist
Jimmy Miracle most recently exhibited at Sugar and Norte Maar in Brooklyn, and the Shore Institute of Contemporary Art in Long Branch, NJ.  Born in Florida, Miracle spent much of his formative life by the sea and its environs.  He worked at Jeff Koons’ studio, in the painting department, from 2006-2008. Miracle lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

JIMMY MIRACLE: NEW BIRDS is the first of four exhibitions curated by Samuel W. Kho for All Things Project in 2010.
